Benazepril is used for:
Benazepril is a prescrition medication used for dogs and
cats in treating heart failure, high blood pressure, and some forms of kidney
disease It may also be used for other
conditions as determined by your doctor. Benazepril requires a perscription from your veterianain.
Benazepril is an angiotensin-converting
enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by relaxing the blood vessels, which helps to
lower blood pressure.
Used for:
Dogs and Cats
Do NOT use benazepril if:
- you
are allergic to any ingredient in benazepril or to any other ACE inhibitor
(eg, lisinopril) - you
have a history of angioedema (eg, swelling of the hands, face, lips, eyes,
throat, or tongue; difficulty swallowing or breathing; or hoarseness) - you
are pregnant - the
patient is a child with severe kidney problems - you
are also taking aliskiren and you have either diabetes or kidney problems
