Deramaxx is a medication used in dogs for osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis causes degeneration of the joints which leads to joint pain. Deramaxx reduces pain and inflammation. It belongs to the class of medications known as NSAIDs. It is a COX-2 inhibitor which means that it has less side effects than the older types of NSAIDs which inhibited COX-1 and COX-2. The tablets are chewable, scored, and beef-flavored.
Side effects could involve the digestive system, kidneys, or liver. Monitoring by your veterinarian is important
